I’ve been in a nude lipstick phase for quite some time now and this warmer weather is giving me all the summer time makeup vibes. I recently did some damage at Ulta Beauty (as seen on Instagram) stocking up on some new products to try and found some classically-summer makeup products and wanted to put together a look to celebrate the season. I love how Ulta Beauty is a mix of drugstore and higher-end makeup brands so that I can find everything I want in one spot. I love that I can get one of my favorite drugstore foundations at the same place as the latest must-have palettes!
Before jumping into the summer makeup look going for golden glowy eyes and a coral lip, there’s a new Ulta Beauty opening up in San Jose, CA this month and want to make sure you guys know about it! The new location is opening up at Almaden Rach at 5140 Cherry Ave on May 26th–just in time for Memorial Day weekend! They have some awesome gifts for attendees to get you your makeup fix. First 100 guests receive amazing beauty treats and hot buys on Ulta favorites products (items up to 50% off)!
For this golden eyes makeup look, I’ll share step by step what products from Ulta–and maybe add them to your shopping list for the San Jose grand opening!?
When I think of summer makeup I think of glowy and brozed hands down. I wanted to focus on testing out new products that would make me feel like summer and glisten in the sunshine (can you tell I love summer?) I was inspired by two of Ulta’s summer makeup looks when creating this and did a mix of two together when going for bronzed and a coral lip. Something about a coral lip is so gorgeous to me!
The Perfect Summer Look: Golden Eyes Makeup & Coral Lip Tutorial
Primer: Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer
I prepped my skin before makeup with the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer to set the canvas for my makeup application to make sure it doesn’t budge. I first purchased this primer about a year ago and recently picked up a second one since I ran out. I like the texture of this when I apply it and I most importantly love how it makes my large pores disappear and smooth out for even foundation application. I have some quite large pores on my nose and cheeks so a primer than can cover those babies is always my step 1.
Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve re-purchased the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation! It gives such an amazing finish for the affordable price and I’ve found it stands up pretty well on hot days with my combination skin. And being totally honest with you guys….no matter how good a beauty product is, I’m going to sweat in 90+ degree heat haha! I’ll take a dime to quarter sized amount on the back of my hand and apply with a very damp blending sponge in a bouncing motion to blend into my skin.
Bronzer: Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Lite Matte Bronzing Powder
I’ve never been into a super heavy contour because it can quickly go overboard with my skin tone. For summer too, I find that I prefer a more sun-kissed look versus an overly sculpted look. I’ve tried the regular Hoola bronzer in the past and really like it, so I wanted to give the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Lite Matte Bronzing Powder a try. The lighter color is great for fairer skin tones and is easily buildable to add a bit of bronze and shadow. For this look I’m focusing on cheekbones and my forehead for a sunkissed look.
Concealer: Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer
I’m a little late to the party with this concealer but the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer is VERY nice. I love the large doe foot applicator and like to dot it under my eyes before blending it in with my sponge. I’ll also add a bit on the bridge of nose to brighten up a bit.
Eyeshadow: NUDESTIX Magnetic Luminous Eye Color
I just discovered these NUDESTIX Magnetic Luminous Eye Color pencils and think they are the perfect eyeshadow / liner combo for an intense shimmer payoff. This pencil is in the color Copper Foil and it glides so easily over my lid (nothing more frustrating than a liner or eye pencil that tugs at your eye). I also can get oily lids by the end of the day and these are actually ideal for us oily-lidded gals! I focused putting the Copper Foil on my lid as the first step in my golden eyes makeup look and worked it around with the tip of the pencil.
Eyeshadow: Tarte Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette
I didn’t realize this when I was doing my shopping but I’ve seemed to have picked up a good amount of Tarte–ha! I’ve had a lot of success with their products so was eager to try more new things! I’ve seen this palette all over YouTube and have been dying to try it. Today I went for a handful of the warm tone colors including Bold, Whimsy, and Innocent, and blended them into the NUDESTIX in windshield wiper motions into my crease. It helped create a nice gradient from the shimmery lid color to a more natural and warm crease look. I really like the formula of these shadows…wait till we get to their black shadow Punk for liner!
For some shadow on my under eye, I repeated the same colors with a small pencil brush on the outer corner of my eye for a slight smudgy liner effect. It’s easy to go overboard with this so I’ll always start with the lightest shadow shade and work my way up to desired color. It’s always easier to add than erase! I then took the same pencil brush and worked the remaining shadow on the brush into my crease to deepen up the color and give it a smokey cut-crease effect.
Eye liner: Tarte Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette with the color Punk
Lately I’ve ditched my liquid liner (shocking I know!) and have opted for using eyeshadow with an angled brush to change up the effect. Sometimes I’ll get the brush wet first to help adhere the eye shadow but today I went in straight to the black eye shadow Punk from the Tarte Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette. Press the liner brush right up against your lashes for a natural eye liner look that gives your eyes a bit of pop–and then I decided to add a bit of a wing just for fun.
Highlighter: Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette
For a summer time look I’m really into adding a shimmer of highlighter to give a dewy look! I wanted to try out the Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette to try out the combo of cream highlighter and powder highlighter. I love the shades Strobe and Lit in the palette for a beautiful sun-kissed glow. I don’t do crazy amount of highlighter because I feel it can accentuate your pores a bit, so I focus on my cheekbones and apply it with my finger for control and pat it in. Love this glow!
Lipstick: L’Oreal Infallible Lip Paints in Orange Envy
You guys…I LOVE this lip color. When I think of summer beauty, I think of an orangey-red lip and this L’Oreal Infallible Lip Paints in Orange Envy is calling my name! I think this shade looks so amazing on all haircolors and skin tones. Since it is a bright color, you want to go carefully with the application. I started with a small amount of product on the applicator and slowly built up the color, letting it dry as I went to avoid too much product and smearing. I love how this dries down but still keeps a bit of a satin finish!
And there you have it–my summer golden eyes and coral lip makeup look! I hope you guys loved this one because I had so much fun trying out new products and playing with this glow! Don’t forget to check out the new Ulta Beauty location in San Jose!

I love the colors that you picked! Summer make-up is something that I prefer to be like this, instead of your usual smokey eye that everyone does during the winter. It’s really nice to pick out bright and light colors.
