“I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit” – Michael Kors
I thought this quote was a great way to introduce my most recent DIY project! Since setting up my new jewelry organizer I have gained such a better appreciation for my accessories, mostly because I can now see everything and visualize how it will fit in with my outfit! While digging around and checking out some statement pieces I haven’t word in forever, I had an idea on how I could use them more often. Taking a loot at some of my long necklaces, I realized I could start using them as chains for my glasses! Once I made that realization it was off to DIY land for me! I was so excited that I found quite a few long necklaces that could be used as yet another a unique accessory. Here’s my process on this DIY sunglass chain!
DIY Sunglass Chain
-
Find a long necklace that has a clasp. Make sure it is one that will sit well on your body and won’t be in your way too much! You’ll also want to ensure that there aren’t too many pieces on the necklace so it doesn’t get caught on things throughout the day.
-
Make a loop at each end of the necklace so that the clasps are now connected to the same side of the necklace it came from.
-
Once the loop is your desired circumference, tie it off with a simple clear hair tie.
-
Slide the loops onto either end of your sunglasses and voila! You have a beautiful new accessory!
Lacking in the long necklace department or don’t feel like making your own? No worries! Here are a few of my favorite sunglass chains from Amazon (which is also where my jewelry organizer is from):
I really think this time at home has brought out more of a creative side of me that I didn’t know existed. I have found such enjoyment in making items for myself that I know I will keep using! Sunglass chains have become really useful for me, so I am thrilled to have found a way to have a few options depending on my outfit choice of the day!
