A BOHO GLAM THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving!  My week has been so busy wrapping up projects before shutting down for the holiday and I’m sure that will be more hectic than relaxing!  I have three Thanksgivings to attend this Thursday so…I’m going to be needing a break by Friday!

This week I attended a dressy Friendsgiving in San Francisco and wanted to go for a different look than the typical fall deep colors.  I pulled this Tory Burch dress out of my closet–previously worn at a spring wedding–and wanted to challenge myself to make it work as a fall boho-glam look and my Friendsgiving party.  Since the dress is somewhat backless (and it’s chilly out!) I wanted to pair it with a navajo-style printed scarf for warmth, coverage, and more of a fall vibe.  The fall colors of the scarf work well with the blush pink dress and help bring together a soft fall color palette.  Since this dress is very romantic on its own I added a pair of open toe lace up booties for some edge.

For my hair, I wanted a holiday hairstyle that was easy enough to pull off on my own but pretty enough to look special.  I started this look by prepping towel dried hair with Nexxus Caviar Complex Serum (it smells so amazing!) to smooth my hair’s surface with its nutrient rich formula to make my curls look rich and not frizzy.  I’m always so excited to try new products to help rehabilitate my hair from the perils of coloring and heat styling–am I right? I then dried my hair and used a curling iron (iron, not my typical wand!) to create soft curls by wrapping the hair from ear-level to the ends.  I made a point to curl the front of my hair at my natural middle part since it plays up the boho look.  Once all of my hair was curled, I ran my fingers through the curls from ear level to just below the jaw to open up the curls mid-way for volume while still keeping the ends intact.  I finished off the look by placing a silver headband on towards the front of my forehead and gave my curls a couple sprays of Nexxus Maximum Hold Finishing Mist.  I’ve always had a challenge finding a hairspray that held my curls without giving me a hair helmet and this Nexxus one is fantastic to still keep movement and bounce in your hair.
