With restaurants closed, we’ve been cooking and eating at home a lot more. I do miss the convenience and experience of going out to eat, however it has been fun to experiment more in the kitchen. I’m curious – what have you been cooking since eating at home more. If you’re looking for some simple pantry meal, check out my pantry meals post.
As you’re spending a lot more time in the kitchen, you may realize that your kitchen use a few updated essentials. Thankfully the CB2 Home Sale is going on right now.I’m a sucker for beautiful dishes and kitchen items, and I love everything from CB2! Perfect timing to update dining and kitchenware! I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below!
CB2 HOME SALE
KITCHEN TOOLS
Prep tools don’t just have to be functional. Why not add some style and they can become a decorative piece! This stone mortar and pestle looks lovely on the counter and works wonderfully for crushing up spices for all those new dishes you’re trying. I also love the beautiful take on a cheese grater, and the walnut and marble combination of the pepper and salt grinder set.
FOOD STORAGE
Okay, can we talk about this honey jar? All made of glass with the wooden dipper, I think it is one of the most beautiful honey jars I’ve seen. Instead of traditional salt and pepper shakers, put this black marble salt duo dish in the center of your table or right by your stove. It’s divided in the middle, so you can put salt on one side and pepper on the other, or any spice combo you want. Also great on the table or beside the stove is this glass oil and vinegar cruet set. Perfect for dressing up salads or other dishes.
DISHES AND FLATWARE
Beautiful dishes don’t just need to be reserved for special occasions. Even if you’re cooking frozen meals or ordering take-out, put your food on an actual plate, and I promise it will be more satisfying. I love these modern stoneware options from CB2. The neutrals colors go with any kitchen color palette and they’re perfect for everyday meals or special occasions. This classic, yet modern flatware set would go well with any dish set! It comes in three colors, and I’m partial to the gold.
KITCHEN LINENS
Don’t forget kitchen linens! As I’m in my kitchen more now, I’ve realized my poor kitchen towels need an update. Whenever I get towels I always look for function and style. These CB2 kitchen towels fit both criteria! I love the colors and simple stripe design of the terry cloth towels, and the best thing is that they are super absorbent as well thanks to the terry cloth. For a fun punch of color go for the waffle weave colorful set. And don’t forget napkins. I love using cloth napkins because 1) they are elegant, and 2) they save money and are better on the environment. Also, since paper products have been in short supply recently, it may be a good time to stock up on some reusable napkins.
DRINKWARE
Step up your water glass game with these two gorgeous options! If you’re feeling something different, go with the on with light and dark brown tones that mimic tortoise pattern. Or for a more classic elegant option, go with the Timbre Barware made of crystal-clear glass. And because it’s so much easier (and more fun) to drink with a straw, these are two of my favorite reusable options.
BARWEAR
Missing your regular happy hour? Create your own happy hour experience with beautiful barware, some simple snacks and a video call with friends.
Have some fun trying out cocktail recipes using one of these gorgeous bar tool sets! I also love the simplicity of the gold bottle opener and the art deco-inspired triangular pattern design of the shaker.
COFFEE
Right now, I’m really thanking myself for ditching my Starbucks addiction earlier this year. While I do miss hanging out at coffee shops, I have everything I need to make a good cup of coffee at home. If not being able to go to coffee shops has been hard for you, check out my post about ditching my Starbucks addiction where I share my favorite at-home espresso machines, espresso pods, and reusable coffee cups and to-go mugs.
Making coffee at home, with the right tools isn’t as hard as it sounds. You can actually have a latte from the comfort of your own home thanks to products like the Nespresso by De’Longhi VertuoPlus Coffee Espresso Single-Serve Machine. This beautiful espresso machine can make you a warm cup that will rival any in-store coffee out there. It’s incredibly easy to use and designed to fit easily on your kitchen countertop.
I also found some gorgeous coffee mugs and a classy french press from CB2 that I have to share. You can never have too many coffee mugs, right?
