This year, holiday cards are going to be such a great way to connect with family and loved ones from far away. Each year, I really look forward to sending out our holiday cards, so that people who we may not see or speak with regularly, will still get an update on our lives. I also love receiving them so that I feel as though I can get a glimpse into our loved ones lives. While in typical 2020 fashion, holidays will definitely be looking a bit different this year, which is one reason why I feel as though holiday cards will be so important. We are really thrilled to be doing our Minted Christmas cards this year and I am so excited to get going with finding a design that works for us!
Minted Christmas Cards
Aligning with the rest of 2020, actually getting the right photos for our holiday card was going to be a challenge. We decided that since we have opted out of a professional photoshoot we would set ourselves up for success and decided to do a cozy photoshoot at home! Check out my post all about how we prepared for that and for more ideas on photoshoots at home.
When deciding to go with Minted for our cards, I was really drawn to the fact that the designs and styles really align with our vibes and the style we use everyday. So many times in the past, I have been looking for a certain minimalist design but Minted seemed to have every design I had ever imagined! Since our photo encompasses a lot of the holiday spirit, I was thinking about going with one of the designs below.
One of my favorite features on the Minted site is their “Use My Photo” feature. You can upload whichever photo you plan to use, and can see how it would look on all of the sample cards! You can see below, I used the feature with another photo of our family from last year (can’t give away this year’s cards just yet!)
I really appreciate that Minted has provided cards with more than just a “Seasons Greetings” and our names (nothing wrong with them, you know me, minimalist all the way!). Since 2020 has been a year of distance, we are considering getting one of Minted’s “Year-In-Review” holiday cards. These are really convenient for those far away from loved ones, and those who may not be apprised of what has been happening to you in 2020. While we’ve all been on Zooms and FaceTime with the ones we love this year, I think this is a really special addition to your holiday card, especially in a year like 2020.
Finally, I wanted to share some other really creative and fun card layouts from Minted. Everything is customizable, which is so great for those who want to use different language that what the card already shows. Check out some of my runner-ups from the holiday card section on Minted!
I am really looking forward to using Minted for so many of our needs in the future! How do you plan on ordering your holiday cards this year? Let me know some other fun ways you are sharing in the holiday spirit with those far away in the comments!
