I haven’t shared this openly but I have eczema–and that’s okay! I haven’t shared it before because I never thought it was something of interest to talk about and definitely not something to be ashamed about! I was at an event recently and chatting with some women when one woman mentioned that the weather changing to cooler temps caused her eczema to flare up–and surprisingly many of us also were experiencing the same thing! I hope that my post today helps inspire you to talk openly with your family, friends, community around various issues because you never know who you might help by talking about it! October is Eczema Awareness Month so I nominate you to start the conversation, reach out to someone, and / or share your story to help bring awareness to this skin issue! Keep reading to discover some of the best products for eczema.
At first I didn’t even realize I had eczema when I was a teenager. I was dealing with another skin issue called tenia versicolor (that’s another topic for another day!) and didn’t think of the little bumps on my arm as anything more than dry skin. I’d ignore it and it would stick around for a couple weeks and then resolve itself.
But fast forward to a couple of years ago and I had an eczema flare up on my forearm that was a bit “angrier” looking than my typical “dry skin”–uh oh. I frantically applied lotion to try to make it go away and didn’t see any results from my favorite scented lotions I’d use.
The Best Products for Eczema:
Since that moment, I’ve learned more about my eczema and how to deal with it so that I have a routine when flare ups happen. After trying many different lotions, I found myself using the Aveeno Eczema Therapy line for hydration on my skin. I had used Aveeno hand cream previously and when restocking in the drugstore, I discovered their Eczema Therapy range of creams, lotions, and balms.
When I have active eczema situations I’ll use a combination of the Aveeno products to speed through the process and get my skin hydrated and back to happy as quickly as possible. For everyday and bringing around in my bag, I’ll pack the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Hand Cream with me. It’s actually just fantastic as a hand cream but great for instant touch ups throughout the day as needed. When I’m home, I use the Aveeno Eczema TherapyMoisturizing Cream on my body and the Itch Relief Balm on problem areas for an extra dose of moisture.
What do you think are the best products for eczema? I’m always looking for another solution to help my skin and others! Thank you for sharing and spreading awareness!

This was a really comforting blog post to read. I’ve had eczema since I was born and was always so self-conscious about it. Wearing certain things to hide it and always watching out for what I wore so it wouldn’t be agitated and get even more itchy. Aveeno is actually a really good lotion and does the job without being too heavy of a lotion. Thank you for making this blog post it was a really great read.
